Running. It’s my zen time: I use it to organize my day, to meal plan, to day dream and to let off steam.
We have a family place in Ontario that we love going to in the summer. It’s rustic ~ think family camp: no internet, no television, no phones. We spend the days on the water and in the woods, we spend the nights playing board games and lying on the dock trying to catch a glimpse of the Northern Lights. We come home bug bitten, a little grimy, and totally recharged for the year ahead.
I make a mean chocolate chip banana bread. It’s been known to soothe the woes of a bad day at school, a tough loss in a soccer game, a rough swim practice, a Cross Country race that didn’t go as well as it could have, and the general blues involved with being a kid growing up.
