Resourceful contributor with a passion for people having served for over 25 years in the financial services sector. I’ve worked at New York Life/MainStay Funds in the operations area as well as John Hancock, ADP and Vestwell.

Outside of work, I most enjoy spending time with my 3 kids (and grand puppy) and my partner. I love to cook, spend time at the beach and paint when I have free time!

Some things you might not know about Kate...

What is your greatest achievement?

"My greatest achievement is my 3 children. For the better part of the past decade, I have raised my 3 kids on my own. They are 3 unique personalities for sure , but overall, I am so proud. Proud of their blemishes, proud of their accomplishments but mostly proud of the loving kind compassionate people they each have grown up to be. I feel it’s my job to teach them kindness, empathy, and compassion for others, and so far, they are each exceling in these areas, thank God!"

What is your favorite treat?

"My absolute favorite treat food that is bad for me is a Take 5 Bar! It is so incredibly yummy and addicting. Pure evil and goodness wrapped into one!"

What is your “why” for being in the retirement plan industry?

"My “why” for being in the retirement industry: This became my why… its not why I sought out a job in the retirement plan industry in the first place!! I share with most on my enrollment meetings…. If you told me 30 years ago that I would have wound up a single mother raising her 3 kids, I would have told you that you were crazy! When I joined the industry in 1995, I was married to a military man and the goal was to stay home and raise my children. So, in the early years (the ones that matter most!) I did not contribute to my 401K. “No need, I’m not going to be working that long anyway, so as long as he does, we are fine!” Look at me now…. I wasted many early years that could have set my retirement in a much better trajectory. So, I share this in hopes that one person, one employee of one company I talk with will hear me and do better. There is never going to be “enough money” as we are in our saving years, so switch the mindset to putting your financial security as a top priority rather than as a plan for another day."
