Stig Nybo has joined Strategic Retirement Partners, a national retirement plan consulting services firm. Nybo will be joining the Northern California team to help lead and grow the west coast practice.
Stig brings 25 years of experience in leadership roles within the retirement business and has made a significant commitment to advancing best practice for retirement plans. His experience spans all aspects of the business, giving him unique perspective and insight. Stig has led strategy, operations, sales and marketing, and technology teams as President of Transamerica Retirement Services (which served more than 3.5 million participants). He also brings insight from his many outside board and advisory board roles, both past and present, including RetirementJobs.com, EBRI, and Betterment for Business.
In addition, Stig has an inside perspective on Capitol Hill, the legislative process, and policy making overall. His interaction with regulators has resulted in direct and positive impact to retirement policy and his involvement in issues surrounding the pending DOL Fiduciary Rule, gives him a unique insight in to how plans will thrive in a post rule world.
“Stig is a perfect addition to our team,” shares Jeff Cullen, Managing Partner, Strategic Retirement Partners. “Like us, he believes that every American deserves the opportunity to retire with dignity and confidence. He is an award-winning author for Transform Tomorrow: Awakening the Super Saver in Pursuit of Retirement Readiness (John Wiley & Sons, Inc., 2013), which received the USA Best Book Award for “Social Change” and “Business: Investing.” And he was named the 5th most influential person in the retirement plan industry by 401kWire.com.”
“We are extremely selective about who we choose to work with and are thrilled to have Stig join our team,” adds Todd White, Northern California. “He brings an amazing amount of experience and a totally unique perspective to our practice. He will be a refreshing voice with a deep knowledge around behavioral finance, behavioral change, as well as the intricacies of record-keeping that will help us further our efforts to drive participant outcomes. Pretty cool.”
Steve Faggiolly, Northern California also remarks, “we are driven by our passion to serve our clients and change participant outcomes. Not only does Stig share that passion, he has been a leader in the effort for many years. A great example of this is his effort to create a non-branded public service campaign to change beliefs around the benefits of saving and the achievability of financial security. We are really excited to have him.”
Stig lives in Portola Valley, California with his family.
